Harvest Fest is only a week away — Last Call for Vendor Spots!!

              The Mount Pocono Association is again sponsoring our MOUNT POCONO COMMUNITY HARVEST FEST.  This year the Harvest Fest will be held Saturday, September 29, at the Fire Company Carnival Fairgrounds, just off Route 611.  This is a RAIN or SHINE event. The Harvest Fest is a Community-wide Family-Friendly gathering featuring great Food, Craft, Merchandise, and non-profit vendors.  Plenty of activities for the children, too! FREE ADMISSION and FREE PARKING courtesy of the Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Company. Volunteers needed for Pick Up The Poconos!

The Borough of Mount Pocono, Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, Municipalities and many other community groups across the county are working together to combat litter. Your assistance is needed in helping to Keep the Poconos Beautiful and Litter Free. Pick Up the Poconos Day is a county-wide initiative encouraging all of Monroe County to do their part and pick up litter. On September 29, 2018, locations across the county are joining forces to Pick Up the Poconos on this given day to maximize the effect of the pick-ups. Click Here to learn more and sign up Encourage your friends and family to volunteer for the day. Those who sign up can choose a road in a participating Monroe County municipality. Gloves and bags will be provided to volunteers for the pick-up, as well as light breakfast fare, water throughout the morning, a free t-shirt, and an entry into a raffle to win prizes to local attractions and restaurants.

The Ulysses Quartet Returns to Cohen Hall

Free tickets are available for this event, courtesy of the Monroe County Area Agency on Aging.  Contact Judy Jones, jujones@monroecountypa.gov, or call (570) 420-3735 x3752  The Ulysses Quartet  returns to Cohen Hall on the ESU campus, on Saturday Evening,  October 13, 2018, at 7:30 PM.  This is the chance to celebrate their great recent success, winning First Prize at the Schoenfeld International Competition in Shanghai.  Joining them in this concert will be Lancaster, Pennsylvania native Matthew Graybil, an exciting young classical pianist, in a special program: The Mendelssohn C Minor Piano Trio Bohuslav Martinu’s Three Madrigals for Violin and Viola, and the Schumann Piano Quintet in Eb.
