Previous to being mayor, Mike served as a member of the Planning Commission and on the Mount Pocono Municipal Authority, positions he continues to hold.

Mike grew up in Perry County, Pennsylvania, a small farm community near Harrisburg and Carlisle.  He studied neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and then moved to New York City to work in science book publishing.  Mike and his husband, Julio Alegria, have lived in Mount Pocono since 2017.
