Mount Pocono Municipal Authority

The Mount Pocono Municipal Authority was created by the Borough of Mount Pocono in accordance with the Municipality Authorities Act of 1945. The purpose of the Mount Pocono Municipal Authority is to acquire, hold, construct, improve, maintain and operate a sewer system, sewage treatement plant and proper equipment for use in connection with the Borough of Mount Pocono and for other territory as it may be authorized to serve.

The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is managed by an Executive Director, Jonathan Klotz, and two operators in compliance with the regulations set forth by the Department of Environment Protection (DEP) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In fact, in the Fall of 1996, the EPA awarded the Mount Pocono Municipal Authority with the Operations & Excellence Award for the Most-Improved Plant! All of the members of the WWTP worked very diligently to receive this award. The community should be proud of this achievement.

Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month @ 7:00 P.M.
