Road Crew Member
Classification: Full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; 30-minute unpaid lunch period
Compensation: Starting at $19/hour for 40 hours/week. Overtime available as needed.
Supervision: This position is under the general guidance and direction of the Public Works Director and Borough Manager
Description of Work
Directly work on a variety of operations such as paving, surface treatment, widening, construction, patching, small bridge maintenance, guide rail, signing, shoulder cutting, crack and joint sealing, snow removal and overall general facility maintenance.
Follow work assignments in progress and upon completion provide vialytics reports to the supervisor regarding assigned tasks.
Ensure appropriate safety precautions are used to maintain a safe environment for workers and the motoring public through use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Maneuver safely around moving traffic and construction equipment.
React immediately to hazard warning devices, such as signs, sirens, and alarms.
Tolerate exposure to noise, outdoors, adverse weather conditions, various plants and insects, and chemicals within Safety Data Sheet (SDS) limits.
Sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, crawl, twist, and climb; lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Withstand periods of heavy exertion.
Travel to work sites to be directly involved in maintenance operations.
Use required personal protective equipment and be responsible for its care, storage, and maintenance.
Required Experience, Training & Eligibility Qualifications:
Preference will be given to residents of Monroe County.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year in construction, highway maintenance, truck driving or related field; some training will be provided.
Necessary Special Requirement – This position requires possession of a valid PA Class B CDL. Must have a good driving record.
Must be able to problem solve and take initiative.
Must be able to perform essential job functions.
